iPads in Mrs. Park's class
Last six weeks, the science teachers all received a class set of iPads to use to access their online textbooks and enhance learning opportunities. Mrs. Park is currently using them with her 6th grade GT Science classes to facilitate an at-your-own pace unit about the metric system. Learners are able to access a Google doc which guides them step by step through the learning process, including links to videos and other instructional material. The iPads help with differentiation and flexibility, allowing them to be mobile, review material as needed, access a variety of tools and support, and empower the learner with choice. She has designed this learning experience to utilize both the virtual and physical space of her classroom, including hands on activities. She can't wait for the kids to have their own iPads in a few months which will help make these experiences even more flexible and efficient.
