Mr. Lotspeich Dreams of 1:1
Mr. Lotspeich, the choir director, shared the following:
Students use iPads to view examples of "Multi-Tracking", rehearse parts for their own performance, and record themselves singing a three part piece of music (turned into YouTube video). Students (individually) sing through three different parts with a metronome. The students then edit these videos together and it creates digital harmony in three parts! This type of recording (music making) is called "Multi-Tracking".
If we were 1:1, I could have done several small projects throughout the year with sight-reading examples, and with more time we could record an entire song rather than a small chunk.
iPads would also eliminate the need for paper copies of music, everything could be put into digital PDF and we would save on paper!
